Wash. - Families and members of the Latter Day Saints in Tri-Cities are taking part in a 22 mile trek through the wilderness.
It is all to relive the adventure of traveling like the pioneers by pulling carts, sleeping and cooking outdoors, and playing pioneer games. It is a lot of work, but everyone is working together.
"So we have 21 handcarts. There's 10 on each handcart, so there's 8 captains and each captain is over 3 families of handcarts. And that's how the pioneers who came west kind of devised a plan like that." Explains Tom Blodgett who is taking part in the journey.
It is a three day long adventure and there are about 220 people in this wilderness trek along the Columbia River up from McNary Dam.
