More Petland Puppies are SickPosted: Updated:
PASCO, Wash-- Two more puppies from Petland in Pasco are in the hospital. These puppies do not have the Parvo Virus, but they appear to very sick.
Both of these puppies have pneumonia and are currently at the Coleman Animal Health Center the owner's mother told us today that her son purchased two puppies, a german shepherd and golden retriever from Petland on the third day the store was open.
Two days later, the german sheperd had a lower track infection and had to be taken to a veterinarian. The golden retriver also became sick. Petland is paying the hospital bills for both puppies.
"They both are being hospitalized as we speak and the golden retreiver doesn't seem to be very responsive," said DeeDee Harlford, son purchased two puppies that are now hospitalized.
It's unknown whether the german shepherd was sick before being purchased at Petland.
"We are taking care of all the expenses, they are at Dr. Coleman's where they are getting top grade care. Petland covers all charges and they don't have to worry about a thing. They should have there puppies back by Monday or Tuesday," said Dan Miner, owner of Petland.
Miner says in the first puppy delivery from Iowa, one was infected with the Parvo Virus and later died. All the puppies were put into quarantine until a veterinarian could see them.
Petland says if you buy a puppy from their store, you are guaranteed a three-year health warranty and 14-day hepatitis and Parvo Virus warranty.
