YAKIMA, Wash. -- Ramon Castillo went 3-5 with three doubles and four RBI, but the Yakima Bears lost 8-5 to the Boise Hawks Monday night at Yakima County Stadium.

The Hawks took an early 2-0 lead on a two-run homerun to left by Josh Vitters.  Boise added three in the second on a sacrifice fly by Marwin Gonzalez and two Yakima errors to make it 5-0.

The Bears got on the board on Brendan Duffy's hustle triple to left-centerfield and an RBI groundout by Castillo.  The Hawks then opened up a 7-1 lead on an RBI single by Ryan Keedy and a wild pitch in the fifth.

Castillo answered with a two-run double off the leftfield wall to make it 7-3.  After Boise added a run on Vitters' sac fly in the sixth, Castillo drove in another run with a double to leftfield to make it 8-4.  Castillo hit his final double in the ninth, setting up another run when Gerardo Bustamante brought home the final run for the Bears with a groundout.

Santo Baez pitched two perfect innings of relief for the Bears, striking out three of the six batters he faced.

The Bears host the Hawks in the finale of the three-game series, with Ian Harrington on the mound for the Bears for a 7:05 p.m. start.
