YAKIMA, Wash-New center for homeless youth is in the works.
Homeless youth in Yakima have never had a place where they could seek help. But starting in September they will have a new home.
The new place for homeless youth is called Rod's House. The house was donated to the program about a year ago. The Yakima community is now working to fix it up and hope to open the center by September
The house will be a place where homeless kids can get schooling, meals and seek mentoring. They will finally have a place to reconnect with the community.
Up to 50 people will be able to be in the house at one time. But they hope to reach many of the 700 homeless kids in Yakima.
Rod's House has been possible because of donations. If you would like to donate you can call 576-3606. Your small donation will make a big difference in the lives of those who cannot afford a home.
