Apple Health Bus Coming to a City Near You

YAKIMA, Wash. -- The State Health Department is launching a bus tour to promote a medical assistance program for uninsured children.

According to Governor Christine Gregoire, the Apple Health for Kids program has already helped 84,000 children get health care coverage. However, it is estimated that 75,000 children in Washington are still without coverage.

The program helps streamline the health care application process for parents, making it easier to enroll their kids. To be eligible, a family's income cannot exceed 250% of the federal poverty level, which is about $130,000 for a family of four.

The Apple Health Bus will be making stops at the following locations:

August 12th and 13th - Kennewick - Benton-Franklin Health District Clinic

August 14th - Yakima - Yakima Neighborhood Health Services Community Clinic

August 15th - Sunnyside - Comprehensive Mental Health
