Yakima Fire Department Welcomes Two New Firemen in Training
YAKIMA, Wash-Yakima Fire Department welcomes the two newest members to their team.
Anthony Anserllo and Jason Wilson are 2 out of 300 applicants that were accepted into the program.
Anserllo is from British Colombia and Jason Wilson is from Selah.
The two men will spend the next two months training at the fire station. They will then assist firemen. And in one year they will take their final exam that will decide if they will be official firemen.
Anserllo and Wilson say they were shocked to hear they got the positions, but ready to take on the challenge. They say have a lot to learn before they will be out with the firemen.
"You have to learn a ton of material that is gonna save your life and other people's lives and they have to be able to depend on you," says Jason Wilson.
The two men plan to "put their nose to the grind," as Anserllo said, to become Yakima's future dependable firemen.
