NESPELEM, Wash. (AP) - A wildfire burning on the Colville Indian Reservation is 50 percent contained, but firefighters face rising temperatures in the days ahead. The Columbia River Road Fire has burned more than 34 square miles about nine miles west of Nespelem. More than 860 firefighters are battling the blaze. Twenty homes and 40 outbuildings are near the fire, but no evacuations have been ordered. The cause of the fire, which started Thursday, remains under investigation. Temperatures are expected to reach into the 90s in parts of northeast Washington Wednesday, and to continue rising throughout the week.
