KENNEWICK, Wash-- Are you tired of the pain at the pump? Not to worry, relief may be on the way. Gas prices continue their downward trend, leaving the current price per gallon in Washington at $4.02.
While any gas price above $4 may seem high to motorists, consider last month when the price per gallon was $4.34.
The cost of gas in Kennewick, however, is a bit slower to drop. The average cost of a gallon of gas is $4.10--that's $.08 higher than the price per gallon in Spokane.
And while prices continue to drop, so too are the number of drivers. The Federal Highway Administration reports between November of last year and today, there has been a 53 billion mile decrease when compared to that same period the year before.
Still, the news of lower gas prices sits well with drivers. That is until they're reminded the price per gallon was under $3 just a year ago.
