Eisenhower Football Preview: Ike Led by a Cast of Characters

Posted: Updated:
YAKIMA, Wash. -- The Eisenhower Cadets march into the new season on a mission. Last year, Ike passed their way to a 7 and 3 record. But in the end, it was just not good enough.

Ike just missed the playoffs last year, finishing 4th but this year they are looking to get there with a couple of characters.

Leading the cast of characters is senior quarterback Taylor Elmo, who along with his ability to throw and run the pigskin, is quite the hairstylist. He straightened his hair right before practice, right before putting on his helmet.

He says, "It's just something my friends were doing."

When Elmo is finished with his hair, he runs a spread offense for the Cadets, one that relies on another character, senior wideout Chad Brown.

Brown says, "I know I am ready to score and step up for the team."

But Brown is not your stereotypical 6'3", 6'4" reciever. He stands at well under the 6-foot mark.

He says, "Heighth would be awesome. If I could get a couple more inches before school starts but I am pretty sure that is not gonna happen."

Their first performance is on September 6th against Eastside Catholic.
