YAKIMA, Wash. -- Marwin Gonzalez drove in four runs for the Boise Hawks in their 11-5 win over the Yakima Bears Sunday at Yakima County Stadium.
The Bears took an early 1-0 lead in the first on Alfredo Marte's RBI double to right. Boise came back with four runs in the second on Sean Hoorelbeke's RBI double, Michael Brenly's RBI single, and a two-run double by Gonzalez.
The Hawks added three in the fourth on an RBI groundout by Gonzalez and a two-run homerun by Drew Rundle. They scored three more in the sixth on an RBI double by Gonzalez, a sacrifice fly by Kurt Calvert, and a wild pitch. Josh Vitters added an RBI single in the eighth.
The Bears scored two runs in both of the last two innings, starting with a run-scoring error and an RBI groundout by Andrew Fie. Anthony Smith added an RBI double in the ninth, finishing 3-5 with two doubles.
David Cooper reached base four times on three walks and a single. His first inning walk was his 58th of the season, breaking Charles Nelson's record for most all-time in Bears history.
The Bears host the Hawks in the finale of a three-game series Monday night, with Houston Summers on the mound for Yakima at 7:05 p.m.
