Lourdes Offers Free Mammogram's to Uninsured Women

PASCO, Wash-- When you don't have health insurance a mammogram can seem unnecessary. For a woman at the age of 40 doctors say it is vital to catch the early signs of breast cancer.
Wednesday, Lourdes Health Network in Pasco offered free mammograms to uninsured women.
Lourdes partnered with the Susan B. Komen Foundation, which provided some of the funding.

"If you don't have insurance this is the easiest way to get in the system and to do it without any out of pocket expense," said Dan Ellsworth, Ancillary Service Director at Lourdes.

Women of any age should do self-breast examinations regularly, to look for lumps or any changes.

Lourdes offers free mammograms about four times a year. To be eligible you need to be uninsured,  between the age of 40 and 64, and have never had a mammogram before.
