Twin Leaders of Columbia-Burbank

Posted: Updated:
BURBANK, Wash. -- Columbia-Burbank is amped for another year, with a corp group of seniors and new coach Lance Beeson, who came from Kansas to coach the team.

The Coyotes missed the playoffs last year with a 4 and 6 record but this year they are counting on a pair of fraternal twins, Sam and Seth Shelton, to lead them to the promised land.

When Sam and Seth were young they were about the same height, now Sam is 6'2" and Seth is 5'9".

Sam is the Coyotes' tight end while Seth is their all-league running back. And as twins, the competition starts but definitely doesn't end on the football field.

Seth says, "Everything we do; rodeo, school, football, we're hitting each other as hard as we can so we can go home and talk to our parents and brag about who hit harder."

Sam says, "When he starts thinking he's tough I say, 'Calm down, Shorty.' He gets mad when I call him Shorty so then we start wrestling."

But the brothers say when they are playing under the lights, they are the best of friends. Burbank hosts Granger Friday.
