Jeffrey Snedeker will present a faculty recital on Sunday, September 28, at 2:00 pm in the CWU Music Building Recital Hall. Joined by pianist Marilyn Wilbanks, Snedeker will perform works for horn and piano, including two compositions featuring the natural horn, the valveless ancestor of the modern instrument which has experienced a surprising comeback in recent years. The pieces on the program include a concerto by Franz Joseph Haydn, a sonatina by Franz Schubert originally for violin and piano but transcribed for horn, a contemporary sonata for natural horn by American James Nicholas, and a brand new sonata for horn and piano by Washington composer, jazz pianist, and performer at Jazz in the Valley 2008, Brent Edstrom. The styles will range from Classical to jazzy; the program will have something for everyone. The concert is free and open to the public. For more information or for persons of disability to arrange for reasonable accommodations, contact Jeff Snedeker at 963-1226 or email@example.com. CWU Music Building is located at 14th & Alder, Ellensburg.
