YAKIMA--The events of september 11th had a profound impact on all Americans. But it affected present and future members of the military more than most.
Sergeant Chris Dollar was a junior in high school in 2001. He remembers being angry and upset after the terrorist attacks. When he graduated high school, he decided to join the Army.
"Instead of complaining, instead of making comments I said, 'I could do something about this,'" Dollar said. "The Army was the way to go for me."
Dollar is a 2003 graduate of Eisenhower High School. He finished his second tour in Iraq last November. He has been working as an Army recruiter in Yakima since august.
