Suicide May Be Linked To Nisqually Killing

Posted: Updated:
OLYMPIA, Wash. (AP) - Investigators say evidence from a car
where a man committed suicide in Olympia may be linked to a
separate shooting death.
Thurston County sheriff's deputies say 24-year-old Riley Russell
is suspected in the killing of 25-year-old Doctor R. "Junior"
Scott.
Russell shot himself in his car Sept. 12 in west Olympia.
Deputies wrote in a news release that Scott and Russell were
together a week earlier, the last day Scott was seen alive.
Nisqually tribal police on patrol found Scott's body Sept. 16 off a
dirt footpath leading to the tribal center. He had been shot in the
head.
Dried blood was found on the passenger seat in Russell's car and
bloody clothing was in the trunk, and deputies don't think either
was involved in the suicide.
