Nov. 7 - Judges' Seminar - Then and Now
30 years of wine and food in the Pacific Northwest. Take a walk down memory lane! Explore how the wine and food industries in this area have grown and changed. But first, start the evening with an opportunity to meet and talk with this year's Festival judges. Then learn about and taste wines from several of the Northwest's earliest bonded wineries. Hear about pioneering experiences, philosophies and perspectives. Learn more about this area's wine industry - where it has been and where it is going. And what would an evening like this be without food! The Tri-City Country Club's executive chef will also take you down memory lane with a food extravaganza experience focusing on Northwest cuisine and culinary changes over the past 3 decades. Whether from land, sea or sky - taste, enjoy and learn , and you won't leave hungry!

Saturday Seminar at the Red Lion Hotel - Northwest AVA's
Dr. Alan Busacca is the keynote speaker for this event.
He will provide insights into how they compare, e.g., soils, climate and geology. Joining him will be the winemakers from both Walla Walla Valley and Wahluke Slope AVA's. They will be sharing how they use the AVA's in producing distinctive wines. There will be wines from the two AVA's, specially selected foods to compliment those wines, and a question and answer period.
Price per person includes food.
The seminar is limited to 100 attendees. $65.
Public Tasting: Saturday, November 08, 2008, 6 - 9:30 p.m. at the Red Lion Hotel, Pasco.
Price: $55 per person
The public tasting is limited to 1000 attendees.
The Public Tasting allows you to enjoy an evening of Northwest wines from Idaho, Oregon, Washington, & B.C.
This will allow tasters to also compare their notes and preferences with those of the judges as the winners from the judged competition are announced throughout the evening.

The Silent Auction offers you a chance to browse and bid on distinctive products from wineries and other businesses while you sip your wine. The Auction is held during the public tasting, from 6:30 to 8:00 p.m., in the same area as the winery booths. Winning bidders will be posted and the items will be available for pickup at 9 p.m. Checks (ID required), cash, VISA, and MasterCard are accepted for payment. Come prepared to bid on one or more of the many exciting items to be offered.
Complimentary bread, chocolate, and cheeses will be available at several locations in the Public Tasting area throughout the evening.
A selection of hors d'oeuvres from Bin #20 chefs will be available for purchase.
