Pink Hair Extensions Raise Money for Breast Cancer Research
YAKIMA, Wash-- Short, long, curly or straight hair comes in many different colors and styles. Pink however is usually not listed. Pink once the color of sissy girls is now the color of empowerment. It's Breast Cancer Awareness month.
Salons all over Yakima are doing bright pink hair extensions for the cause. There's a one in eight chance that a woman will get breast cancer in her lifetime. These hair extensions are helping to raise money for research. Ten dollars per extension.
"It's only one piece so it kinda blends in. It's not to dramatic, but you can still see it. People are just loving it. It gives them a good reason to have some fun," said Koreena Sedge, hairstylist.
So far, stylists at Chair 9 Salon have done four extensions, with 20 more appointments on the books. So if you'd like to rock a bright pink hair extension head on down to Chair 9 at Glenwood Square in Yakima or call 972-8506.
