RICHLAND, Wash.--After the vice presidential debate was over, it was time for reaction from local political parties.
At the Richland Community Center, Obama supporters, felt like McCain's counterpart (Governor Sarah Palin) did well at avoiding certain topics.
"I thought she (Palin) avoided a lot of the questions," mentions Michelle Waddell. I think Senator Joe Biden was very good with answering the questions and I also thought that he was good with not attacking her."
Waddell says Biden's experience and proven track record matters.
Meanwhile, Benton County Republicans also watched the debate during an executive board meeting at their Richland campaign headquarters.
Chairman Patrick McBurney feels Governor Palin showed the nation her true character.
"She was able to respond cogently and intelligently on issues ranging from energy production to foreign policy to domestic issues and healthcare and the war," adds McBurney. I think she did the McCain campaign proud."
McBurney says Thursday's debate proves Palin has a good grasp of the issues.
