KENNEWICK, Wash-- It's supposed to be the happiest day of a bride's life, but one woman says thieves crashed her wedding. It happened last Saturday during a wedding in Kennewick at St. Joseph's Church.
The bride says several thousand dollars worth of gifts were stolen during her wedding. Now she does not believe guests had anything to do with it, but what she calls "wedding crashers" secretly stole the cards and presents when no one was looking.
She thought it was going to be a dream come true but this Tri-City bride will look back on her wedding feeling disgusted.
"I just started crying I'm like I cannot believe that happened to us," said Joanna Stephens, the bride.
After the wedding, the newlyweds went home and opened up their gifts, but after celebrating with 250 guests they only had 20 presents.
Several guests say they saw a group of men that did not look like they belonged.
"There were some guys about 4 or 5 guys that our photographer saw walking in and she went up to them and said I've been photographing this wedding the entire time and you guys are not part of the wedding party, then my mom and dad came over an they kicked the guys out," said Stephens.
So far Kennewick Police are working on a report, but none of the stolen items have been found. They hope that wedding video will identify these men.
