KENNEWICK, Wash.-- On Monday morning people at Burger King in East Kennewick, got their cheeseburger with a side of shock.
A van ran into the side of the store on 10th Avenue and Washington Street. Kennewick police say the accident happened around 9:30. There were two cars involved.
A green Mercury Cougar was going Eastbound on 10th. The van was going South on Washington. Both cars hit each other and then split in opposite directions.
"Luckily nobody was in the drive thru, and at the tables at the time, it's a miracle because they had a line of cars," said Lyle Mineer, who was near the accident.
"There were two occupants, a driver in each vehicle, both drivers were transported to area hospitals for treatment," said Sergeant Chris Walters, with the Kennewick Police Department.
Police are still investigating what caused the crash. Restaurant staff said they are open for business as usual.
