Huskies Playing More Freshmen, Cougars Try-Out Practice QBs
HUSKIES 12 true freshman have played this season
SEATTLE (AP) - Two more true freshmen - receiver Cody Bruns and running back Terrance Dailey - played in the Washington football team's game at Arizona. That makes 12 true freshmen who have played this season for the Huskies. Some fans question coach Tyrone Willingham's decision to use their eligibility in a season that started with five straight losses. Willingham defends the decision and says the freshman could make a difference in the seven games remaining on Washington's schedule. The Huskies have a bye this weekend.
COUGARS Practice squad QB
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - Twenty-nine students turned out for Washington State's all-campus tryout for a quarterback for the football team's practice squad. Coaches selected four for a final check of compliance and other paperwork. Injuries have left the Cougars short of quarterbacks as they practice for Saturday's game at Oregon State.
