YAKIMA, Wa.- Provident Horizon hosted the Disability Mentoring Day Wednesday. Seven participants visited us to learn more about what we do. The mentoring day allows participants to visit different businesses in the area and find out what jobs are available for them. The Executive Director says this is a good way for people with disabilities to gain confidence and for businesses to learn about the participant's qualifications.
"You know if you say that someone has a disability that's not the end of the story. Someone with a disability has a lot of abilities too," said Sherie Leadon, the Executive Director for Provident Horizon.
The Executive Director says most of the people who took the tour today are looking for internships or jobs.
