Kennewick Police Bury New Time Capsule

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Kennewick Police buried a new time capsule on Wednesday morning.

The capsule was prepared by Apollo Sheet Metal. Inside police put some memorabilia.

Including a badge, patch, Wednesday's newspaper, and pictures. Just a couple weeks ago, officers opened a time capsule from the old KPD building on Dayton street.

Chief Ken Hohenberg says he was there 20 years ago when it was sealed.

"We've put more memorabilia capturing what's going on in the tri-cities and kennewick right now, hopefully it will bring many proud memories 20 years from now," said Chief Ken Hohenberg, with the Kennewick Police Department.

The time capsule is water resistant. Police won't open it for another 20 years. There's also a letter in the capsule, written by Chief Hohenberg for the future police chief.
