Bouchey, Farias Square Off in Race for County Commissioner
YAKIMA, Wash. -- As election day nears, the race for Yakima County Commission District 2 Seat is heating up.
Kevin Bouchey, a successful Toppenish farmer, is taking on Wapato Mayor Jesse Farias. Both candidates say they intend to be more "hands on" in the community.
"I believe that elected and appointed officials should be accessible to anybody", says Farias. "If you go to the front door of Wapato City Hall, you'll see my name, my phone number, and home address on the door. Anyone can call me anytime they want and I would continue that".
"That's where I've been good in the past", says Bouchey. "Listening to people and listening to their concerns and problems and bringing those concerns, as well as their ideas, to the board of commissioners".
The winner will replace incumbent Ron Gamache, who finished third in the Top 2 primary.
