Prosecutors in Italy have accused University of Washington student Amanda Knox of killing her British roommate, in what they are now calling a satanic ritual.
Knox was in a closed hearing in the town of Perugia today where authorities were deciding whether to prosecute her and her former boyfriend Raffaele Sollecito in the slaying of Meredith Kercher.
Prosecutors claimed Knox slit Kercher's throat while Sollecito and another alleged accomplice, who is already on trial for the murder, held her down.
All three suspects have denied any wrongdoing in the November 1, 2007 slaying.
Knox claims she has been struck and verbally abused while in detention.
A ruling on whether Knox and Sollecito should stand trial is expected by the end of the month.
