Surveillance Video Shows Prosser Robbery

Posted: Updated:

PROSSER, Wash--  Benton County Sheriff's need your help finding a suspect in an armed robbery that happened late Saturday night at McCorkle's Market in Prosser.  Police say the suspect fled the scene with cash.

Workers at McCorkle's Market say this is the first time in almost two decades they've been robbed, and it was all caught on tape.

Surveillance video shows the suspect being let in after store hours.  The suspect then heads to checkout, pulls a gun on the cashier and loads it, before grabbing the cash and fleeing.

The store owner says hopefully what he is wearing, including a yellow hat that  says fox on it, will help lead to his arrest.

The owner also tells KNDU he's just happy nobody got hurt, but admits it's tough to move on after Saturday's scare.

"This is a very quiet, peaceful neighborhood," says Jim McCorkle, the store owner.  "A lot of our neighbors are very shaken by the fact that we'd have an armed robbery here."

McCorkle describes the suspect as a Hispanic male in his 20's, roughly five-foot six inches.  Benton County says he may be in his 30's.  If you have any information, you're asked to call 509-628-0333.
