Four Dead After Intoxicated Driver Hits Their Car on Interstate Near Pendleton
PENDLETON, Ore.-- Four people are dead after an intoxicated driver hits their car from behind on Interstate 84, just east of Pendleton, at 12:30 a.m. Sunday.
Oregon State Police say a 29-year-old Hermiston man and his three passengers were in a Chevrolet Beretta when they were struck from behind by a pick-up truck driven by 46-year-old John Carlgren. All four people in the Beretta were pronounced dead at the scene. However, Carlgren had only minor injuries.
Carlgren was booked into the Umatilla County Jail on four counts of second degree manslaughter and one count of driving under the influence of intoxicants.
