Status Of Matt Hasselbeck, Lofa Tatupu Top Long List Of Issues

Posted: Updated:
RENTON, Wash. (AP) - After yesterday's 20-10 loss to Tampa Bay,
the Seattle Seahawks are a dismal 1-5 and in last place in the NFC
after another low-scoring performance by the offense, led by backup
quarterback Seneca Wallace.
Today is expected to bring hints whether Seahawks starting
quarterback Matt Hasselbeck, hobbled by back and knee issues, will
miss his third consecutive game, next weekend at San Francisco.
Defensive leader Lofa Tatupu has a concussion but is expected to
be OK.
In yesterday's loss at Tampa Bay, Buccaneers quarterback Jeff
Garcia played like the Pro Bowl quarterback he was last season.
Garcia, making his second straight start, completed 26 of 37
passes for 310 yards, including a 47-yard touchdown pass to Antonio
Bryant on Tampa Bay's opening drive.
Wallace, the Seahawks' third quarterback in three weeks,
finished just 12-of-23 for 73 yards. He got most of the Seahawks'
points with a 2-yard touchdown pass to John Carlson with just 1:55
left in the game.
There was a scary moment early in the second quarter, when
Seattle linebacker Leroy Hill delivered a hit that injured two
players - including teammate Lofa Tatupu.
Tampa Bay wide receiver Ike Hilliard made a catch around the
Seattle 5, with Tatupu dragging him from behind. Hill came from the
front, slamming into both, and Hilliard crumbled to the turf.
Hilliard - who fumbled - was driven off in a cart, but sat up
for the ride. Tatupu had a concussion.
