HERMISTON, Oregon-- New information about a fatal car accident that happened early Sunday morning. KNDU has learned the four victims were driving home to Hermiston from a church dance in La Grande.
We spoke with friends and family of one of the victims, 24-year-old William Johnson. They tell us the group had pulled over on the side of the road before being rear-ended by John Carlgren.
On Monday, William's father talked about his son, saying it's hard to make sense of the tragic accident.
"The only sense I can make of what happened is that bad things need to happen to good people, too so the man upstairs, when he starts judging other people, he can do it fairly," says John Johnson.
Friends say William was always there to lend a helping hand. He was also a family man, dedicated to spending time with all of his siblings. His father says he was preparing to go on a hunting trip he had planned as a kid.
