People Rush to Register to Vote in Franklin County
PASCO, Wash.-- Voters rushed to get registered at the last minute Monday night in order to vote in November.
Franklin County Auditor's office staff worked over-time, staying until 8:00 p.m. to help register more people. Staff say more than 50 people came out to register Monday night.
One woman ran through the doors at 7:59 p.m. to make sure her voice would be heard in the upcoming election. Deborah Drake says, "Our country is very important and I hadn't voted for a long time because I would keep missing registration days, because I was moving around quite a bit. This time, I decided I was going to get in there. I thought I was going to miss it, but I tried and I made it."
She says her sons are in the military, and all her children inspire her to vote.
