Detectives Working on Murder Investigation Into the Night
YAKIMA, Wash-- Investigators are working into the night gathering evidence on a murder that happened in an apartment complex on North 8th Street.
The victim, Yesenia Haro, lived at the Sunshine Factory Apartment complex with her boyfriend. He hasn't been seen since yesterday and detectives would like to speak with him. Although they are not calling him a suspect at this point.
The, 18-year-old, Haro was found this afternoon by her family and it's believed she was killed Tuesday. Yakima Police Department detectives said she was shot in the head with a hand gun. The coroner is conducting a more in-depth autopsy. All detectives are following possible leads.
"We're not calling him a suspect right now because we don't know exactly what the circumstances are, but we certainly would like to find him and talk to him and get his angle on what happened," said Captain Greg Copeland, Yakima Police Department.
Neighbors said that Haro's relationship with her boyfriend was rocky. They've heard yelling in the past. Wednesday night officers followed a possible lead on the boyfriends whereabouts. He wasn't at the residence, but they did take someone in for questioning.
