Central rolling, Reffett can't cut hair

ELLENSBURG, Wash. - The Central Wildcats are like the big kids on the block, who just beat everybody else up. They have won their last 23 conference games, and can win another conference title outright if they beat Western Oregon Saturday at home. They've already clinched a share of the GNAC title.this year. Blaine Bennett's team is 7-1 overall, 6-0 in conference.  They're also in line to qualify for the Division Two playoffs. Two games still left on the conference schedule, and Wildcat fever is spreading.
"The excitement in the student body, the excitement at the games, the excitement in town--it's a great situation," said Bennett. "Anytime in the Fall your football team does a good job, everybody shares in that."
Senior defensive end Mitch Reffett shares his teams high goals. "Obviously win the conference and then the national championship--that's what our goals are," he said.  "You cant sell yourself short at all."
Reffetts hair looks flat out ridkculous. Long, blonde, and cut in front across the middle.
"Me and Tyrelle Neilson made a bet last season to see who would cut their hair first," he said. "Neither of us did. I kind of had to cut it to get it out of my eyes.  I'm dying. I want to cut my hair bad but he won't let me."
Reffett plays better than he looks. He needs 2 1/2 sacks to move into 10th on the CWU's all-time list. Kickoff against Western Orgeon is Saturday at 1:00 p.m.
