Pasco Police Looking For Speeders on Neighborhood Roads

Posted: Updated:

Pasco police say they are on the look out for speeders on Convention Dr. behind Road 68. Several drivers think the speed is 40 to 50 mph, but there is only one speed limit sign and it says the speed is 25 mph.

Convention Dr. is also considered a residential road, but it's confusing because several commercial buildings are on it.

"I think that part of our job is to educate the public sometimes we have our speeders but they need to be educated by ticket or giving them a warning for speeding. We are worried about kids that are walking down the street we have a lot of kids that go this way from bus stops and heading to school or the movies," said Officer Zach Fairley, Pasco Police Department.

Police say many drivers are in a rush to get to work or pick up their children, but they need to remember the speed is 25 mph.
