YAKIMA--The last weekend of October means it is the last weekend for the Yakima Farmer's Market.
Customers and vendors packed Third Street for one final chance to buy and sell fresh produce and other goods. Katherine Alfaro said the Farmer's Market is a big help to her orchard, and that the market keeps getting bigger and bigger.
"It's been better this year," Alfaro said. "More people from out of town are coming in so whatever advertising [they're doing] must be working."
Alfaro said she wants to see the Farmer's Market give more publicity to individual vendors next year.
She still has plenty of apples and said that without the market, she would start giving them away.
