Kennewick Store Owner is Dragged After Robbery

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash-- A Kennewick store owner is dragged by the car of a woman who police say stole a dress from her store.

This happened Saturday around 4 pm, at a clothing store called Image Collection off Columbia Center Blvd. Police say two women walked in with a bag from the store, one of them put a dress in the bag and walked out of the store.

As they left the store the owner followed them to their car and confronted them. The suspect then wanted to pay for the dress but the owner wanted them to come back inside so she could call police.

Then, the suspect started driving while the owner was still inside the open door and she was dragged about five feet, but has only minor cuts and bruises. Police are still looking for the suspects.

Beatrice Garcia was originally named as a suspect but talked to police and has been cleared. She was with a 17 year old friend who was arrested.

Police say they left in a 2002 black Acura. Garcia is said to be in her 20's.
