People in Kennewick Dressing Up as Political Candidates for Halloween
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Election day is four days away from Friday, but Friday is also Halloween. This year, many people seem to be combining the two.
When you walk into a Halloween store, you expect to see scary and fun costumes and masks, but this year, you're also seeing political masks. There are masks for John McCain, Barack Obama, Hillary Clinton, Bill Clinton, George W. Bush, and more.
The operations manager, Deanna Madrigal, of a Kennewick Halloween store says they ordered an equal number of each mask, but they sold out of the Obama mask four days before Halloween, and McCain masks on Halloween day.
Madrigal says some people are taking dressing up as a candidate seriously, while others are making jokes. She says it seems the fake Obamas are a little more serious. She explains, "With his, I think he's actually been getting more serious stuff. They're dressing more in suits and renting tuxes, versus McCain, they're doing more comedy with it."
