Construction Site Burglary Leads to Arrest

Posted: Updated:

KENNEWICK, Wash--  A bizarre burglary ends with one man being arrested.  Kennewick police officers showed up to a house on Zinzer street, after they got phone calls about a possible burglary.

When they showed up, 43-year-old Jerry Frase pretended to be asleep in his car, and when asked, he said he knew the owner of the house.

However, police found copper wiring in the back of his truck.

This isn't the first time this home has been robbed; two weeks ago equipment was stolen.  The owner says he's glad officers worked quickly, but is shocked his home was robbed.

"This is one of the reasons I picked up this lot, because it looked a little safer than some of the others, it's more visible out here and it's not so dark, it's hidden," says Gordon Benningfield, the home-owner.   So I was very surprised this happened once, let alone twice now in 2 weeks."

The house has been under construction for roughly three months.  It won't be finished until sometime next year.
