Toppenish Man Carjacked At Knife Point

Posted: Updated:

TOPPENISH--Police are looking for two men who held a knife to a man's neck in order to steal his car.

Police told KNDO that two men jumped in front of the victim's car, then forced him out of the driver's seat at knife point.

The victim was driving his gray  honda civic near the 200 block of south toppenish avenue shortly before ten last night.

Two thin, hispanic males wearing dark clothes and bandanas over their faces blocked the car's path.  One man then put a knife to the driver's neck and forced him over to the passenger's seat.  The victim jumped out of the car and called police.

"If you have somebody trying to wave you down that has their face covered, it's probably not a good idea to stop," Sgt. Jake Church said.  "[You should] proceed to the nearest populated area, call police and let them know what's going on."

Police say there are no witnesses or suspects at this time.   The driver told police he just bought the car and did not put it in his name yet.   He also could not remember the license plate number.

He was not injured during the carjacking.
