Some Franklin County Voters Wait Until Last Minute to Vote
PASCO, Wash-- We spoke with several last-minute voters, and there are a number of reasons they waited so long to vote.
The reasons vary from simply forgetting, to not knowing where the ballot drop-off spots are. We first stopped by the Franklin County Courthouse where a number of voters were filling out replacement and provisional ballots.
Then we travelled to the Pasco Annex on Clark Street. Most voters agree this was the most important election they took part in, but they weren't prepared for the fast-approaching deadline. Here's a taste of what voters are saying.
"Well, I guess because I threw the ballots away," says one voter.
"I didn't know where exactly to vote," says another.
"I completely spaced mine," says one voter.
"You know what? I just don't check my mail that often and it builds up."
While the deadline creeped up on some voters quickly, they all agree better late than never. I asked some voters if they preferred mailing in their ballots rather than voting at a specific location. Some say they'd prefer not to mail it in because voting in person adds a better sense of excitement.
