YAKIMA--Incumbent Ron Gamache was outvoted in the primary, leaving two new comers to the race for a seat on the Yakima County Commission. Kevin Bouchey, a successful Toppenish farmer is leading over Farias, the mayor of Wapato.
Kevin Bouchey said he plans to hit the ground running. Bouchey has received about two-thirds of Yakima County's votes, doubling up opponent Jesse Farias.
Even after a tough campaign, Bouchey is not planning to rest yet.
Instead, he says he is going to study up on the most pressing issues in Yakima to get ready for when he officially takes office.
But for one night at least, he is going to enjoy the win ... One bouchey says wouldn't have been possible without a lot of help. "We worked hard, our team has worked hard, it's been a good eight months and we've done everything we felt we needed to do so. I think our hard work has shown.">
Bouchey said he is going to work with Commissioners Mike Leita and Rand Elliot to crack down on gang activity in Yakima County. He also thinks he will be going to Olympia in January as Yakima County's Commissioner representative.
