AT&T Cell Phone Service Down In Tri-Cities And Yakima
KENNEWICK, Wash.-- Staff at the AT&T store on Columbia Center Boulevard were telling customers that some power lines in Eastern Washington and Oregon were down, and that's why there was no service.
Staff members at AT&T's corporate office say the area affected included Ti-Cties, Yakima, and Spokane. They started getting complaints around eight this morning, ball service was restored by 11:00 a.m.
Cell phone users couldn't make calls, use email, or send text messages, and all incoming calls went straight to voicemail.
AT&T's corporate office couldn't tell us what the problem was exactly. Here's all the had to say.
"AT&T had a brief interruption of service this morning in Eastern Washington, and we are currently conducting an investigation to determine the cause," said Jane Taber, AT&T Market Manager for the Pacific Northwest.
On Wednesday morning there was a line of customers wrapped around the store, even before they opened.
The AT&T Customer Service line says two towers in our area were down, and technicians had been working on the problem since 5:00 a.m.
They also said areas in Indiana, Ohio, and North Idaho were affected.
