KENNEWICK, Wash. - The first annual Taste of the Holidays Extravaganza raised about $8,000 Thursday night.
An auditorium at Columbia Basin College was packed with people getting ideas about cooking and decorating for the holidays.
The event was organized by Gadgets and Goodies and Country Gentlemen and many local businesses donated all sorts of items.
Organizer Marge VanZuyen said, "They want to do the same thing next year in November. We have sold 300 tickets Thursday and we are hoping to grow."
100 percent of the proceeds will help sick children from our area who are sent to Children's Hospital in Seattle.
Tickets were 20 dollars.
