HUSKIES Vs. Arizona State tomorrow
      
SEATTLE (AP) - Maybe tomorrow will be the Saturday the
Washington football team wins its first game. The Huskies are 0-8
but playing an Arizona State team in its own slump. The Sun Devils
are 2-6 with a six-game losing streak.

SEATTLE (AP) - University of Washington athletic director Scott
Woodward hopes to name a new football coach by mid-December.
Tyrone Willingham will be gone at the end of the season.
Woodward has told Willingham to maintain contact with five
recruits who have committed to the Huskies. But it will be up to
the new coach to resume recruiting.
     
COUGARS Vs. Arizona tomorrow
      
PULLMAN, Wash. (AP) - The Washington State football team faces
long odds again in tomorrow's game against Arizona in Pullman.
At 5-3, the Wildcats need a win to become eligible for a bowl
game.
The 1-8 Cougars just need a win as coach Paul Wulff rebuilds.
