West Richland Veteran's Day Parade Draws Big Crowd
WEST RICHLAND, Wash-- You may have seen a big crowd on Van Giesen Street in West Richland Saturday.
It was the 9th annual regional veterans' day parade.
The parade travelled from 62nd Street all the way to City Hall. The event has become so big, it even received national attention from the Department of Veterans' Affairs. They recognize it as a national regional site.
KNDU spoke with veterans who participated in the fun and they say many thanks to those who recognize their service time.
"All of the guys here participated in it to show our honor for our country," says Captain Bill Miller of the Desert Patrol.
"It was a good showing today and that makes us feel good, real good," says another veteran.
One of the veterans tells us he was happy to see so many people out cheering them on, especially considering the cold, wet weather.
