PASCO, Wash-- In a consumer alert: you know wine is a major part of our economy, but what's the best wine in the area?
That will be answered Saturday when judges for the Tri-Cities Wine Festival announce their choice for best tasting wine.
The judges pick one bottle out of hundreds that came from roughly 90 wineries. So what exactly makes wine a gold-medal winner?
"Balance I think would be a good word to use to describe a good wine," says Mary Binder, the communications manager of the Tri-Cities Wine Society. "So, it is pleasing to the nose when you smell it. It's pleasing to all parts of your mouth."
The winner will be announced at the Red Lion Hotel in Pasco.
