Former Tri-Cities Fever Player Could Face More Charges After Biting Officer's Finger Off
PASCO, Wash.-- 25-year-old Michael Hodges has been in jail for a week, and some more charges could be headed his way.
Right now he faces 3rd. degree assault. That's after being arrested at the Pasco airport last Monday, for busting through the check point and breaking a window.
Hodges could face charges of 2nd. and 3rd. degree assault for attacking two officers at the Franklin County Jail on Friday, biting one of their fingers off.
The Franklin County Prosecutor says the case is still on a 72 hour hold, and that's how long they have to file the charges. Hodges was scheduled to be in court on Monday but was unable to make it.
"It's his condition right now, he's being evaluated as we speak by officials from Eastern State Hospital on his mental condition, so due to his medical condition and his large size obviously it's not safe to transport him up to the court room right now," said Steve Lowe, Franklin County Prosecutor.
Hodges is still being held on $5,000 bail for the incident at the airport. A new bail will be set if other charges are filed for assaulting the officers.
Hodges is scheduled to appear in court on Wednesday.
