Finding Work and Building Business through Networking
RICHLAND, Wash. - Unemployment rates are rising, the job market is tightening up and people are looking for new ways to get employed.
When looking for a job, most everyone has heard the phrase , "It's not what you know but who you know." At a "Building Bridges" event held by the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber and the Pasco Chamber of Commerce, making inside connections is easy to do.
This is one of many networking events the two chambers have held this year. Dozens of business owners, community relations teams, and ordinary people come together to meet. Participants said creating visibility for yourself or your business is the key to getting what you want, and all it takes is shaking hands, passing out cards and looking for the right opportunity.
"Just like any of us the more you get your name out and your face out there, the more opportunity there is in the future. Whether it's a job change or particularly looking for more business," said Ryan Brault, participant.
This was the last speed networking event of the year for the Pasco Chamber and the Tri-Cities Hispanic Chamber of Commerce, but more networking events are being planned for the near future.
