Donate Unused Toiletries from Your Travels to Soap for Hope
YAKIMA, Wash---We all do it, buy tons of mini toiletries for vacation, come home and then haven't used a thing. Now you can put those extras to good use.
The "Soap for Hope" campaign connects these supplies with women and families in need. Donations taken at the Yakima location will go to a Yakima battered women's shelter. Un-opened shampoos, conditioners, lotions and soaps can be dropped off during AAA business hours.
These aren't the things charities usually ask for, but toiletries are still a necessity. Giving them to a women's shelter just makes sense.
"Well it's probably some of the things you don't think about taking with you when you are leaving a situation. So hopefully this will help them out," said Terry Wisner, Yakima branch manager.
Now, if you have some toiletries you'd like to donate the Yakima AAA is really easy to find. Its at 2301 West Nob Hill Blvd across the street from Safeway. Just pop on in and there's a basket waiting. Hours are from 8:30 to 5:30 Monday through Friday.
