Army National Guard Hops on Board to Help Northwest Harvest
YAKIMA, Wash-- Mom always said chicken noodle soup is good for the soul and canned food is exactly what Northwest Harvest needs.
The Army National Guard is hopping on board to support Northwest Harvest. This is their second year. National Guard offices across the state are taking donations. Last year the Yakima office turned in two boxes and this year they're hoping people will be even more generous. Their goal is to fill six boxes.
People at the National Guard office don't think the current economy will change the giving spirit.
"I think people will be just as generous, those people who have it, um know that they have it and hopefully they'll be willing to give a little bit more than they did last year," said Staff Sgt. Annette Rudnicki.
Donations will be taken until January 1st all across the state. The Yakima office is located at 112 West Nob Hill Boulevard. Once the food is collected Northwest Harvest sorts it, then the food is handed out to needy families in our area.
Now you don't have to bring a lot, every can helps.
