Bechtel Gives $15,000 For New Landscape In Richland
RICHLAND, Wash.-- One area in Richland is getting a new look. On Friday, staff from the city and Bechtel National came together to celebrate the new landscape.
Bechtel donated $15,000 for the project. It's along George Washington Way, just North of Espresso World. City staff say it's improving the quality of life.
"When I drive into Richland now I think this is just part of the evidence of the pride that the community has in the community as a whole, but specifically in this case, in the park system and what that represents to the quality of life that we enjoy here," said Doug Strong, Director of Parks and Recreation for the City of Richland.
City staff have named the area the "Howard Amon Overlook". It's about 4,000 square feet. The city added turf, walking paths, landscape beds, and paved parking.
